BUILT WITH SUPPORT Fruit Steeped in Port
Makes 8 servings

So easy, you'll make it all the time (and you won't need any help).

1 cup port wine
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. lemon zest
1 cinnamon stick
2 lb. mixed dried fruit (figs, dates, apricots, cherries, peaches, pears and prunes)

Mix wine, water sugar and zest in medium sauce pot.  Add cinnamon stick; bring to a boil.

Stir in fruit.  Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 30 minutes or until fruit is tender and poaching liquid is slightly thickened.

Serve warm or chilled with poaching liquid.

Tip:
This is a great addition to a dessert buffet, sweet with a healthy halo.  Served warm, it's also a great topping for vanilla ice cream.
