DON'T SPEAK FOR ME!
Sweet Southern Ginger Iced Tea
Makes 8 (8 oz.) servings

This is real iced tea, not some bogus upstart.

8 orange-pekoe tea bags (e.g., Lipton)
1 chunk (2-inch square, 1-inch thick) peeled fresh ginger
1 qt. boiling water
1 cup sugar
1 cup honey
1 qt. ice/water

Place teabags and ginger in boiling water and let steep for 5 to 6 minutes.  Remove teabags.  Let ginger steep 1 hour; remove ginger.

Reheat tea to just boiling.  Meanwhile, pour the sugar and honey into a 2 qt. pitcher. Pour tea into pitcher and stir until the sugar and honey is dissolved. Fill pitcher with ice and cold water.

Tip:

For a Sweet Southern Ginger Iced Tea Cocktail add a shot of good Tennessee whiskey to each 8 oz. serving.
